With multinational companies aggressively targeting international markets, it is becoming increasingly necessary for managers to have a global orientation, if they are to be successful in their careers. Companies that operate in many different countries tend to recruit people with exposure to different cultures and societies. Such employees are better able to understand the characteristics of markets in different countries. They are also more sensitive to cultural nuances, and thus better prepared to operate in a multi-cultural environment - both in relation to markets, as well as organizations.

Indian companies too are now venturing abroad, in ever larger numbers. The emerging Indian multinationals too need 'multinational' employees. However, there are very few MBA programs that specifically provide such a global orientation. The Global MBA Program from IBS seeks to bridge this gap, through a program that equips students with a multi-cultural perspective, by allowing them to actually live in and experience first-hand other cultures and societies.

Unlike the regular MBA programs, students of the Global MBA program will study at one of the IBS international campuses - Adelaide, Auckland, London, Singapore and UAE. Campuses with the necessary infrastructure and facilities will be established at these locations. The students will follow the Global MBA curriculum, to derive the maximum benefit from study at the IBS international campuses.

The Global MBA Program also provides opportunities for international internships, projects, and eventually, placements. Students will also have the option of transfering between the international campuses, in order to broaden their international exposure.

Like the regular MBA, the Global MBA Program too follows a case-driven approach with world-class case studies showcasing various applications of theoretical concepts in real life situations.

The Global MBA Program combines the best features of the regular MBA Program with the personal and professional opportunities - such as increased fluency in the language of the country, first-hand experience of customs and practices, personal experience of businesses and business practices, etc. - that come from living and studying in a foreign country.

A separate prospectus will be issued later for the Global MBA Program.
